About Me
Park Slope Cat Whisperer ๐ | Feline Behavior Consultant
Lifelong cat lover and cat behavior consultant with 20+ yrs cat care experience. I've been a cat parent to 5 cats, from kitten to senior age. Specialized in shy cats, and I prioritize enrichment and play. I understand expectations and concerns cat parents share, and am lovingly committed to keeping your cat happy, safe and healthy.
Because cat sitting is a long-term passion project of mine, I care more about quality time getting to know your cat, rather than just maximizing total # of pet clients. For cat clients, I patiently commit myself to figure out how to make your cats feel safe, happy and relaxed enough around me to purr on their own timing (& will send you purring videos once they do!). If you're interested cat behavior consulting, please feel free to ask.
Experienced with kittens, senior cats with special needs/chronic illnesses, rescued ferals, and cats that are anxious, extremely shy or have neurological challenges. I've also administered oral, ear, eye & asthma medications. Background in feline enrichment and behavioral change via fear-free positive reinforcement. For regular repeat clients, I can offer some free behavior modification via positive reinforcement requests (i.e., sleep schedule/nail trim acclimation/clicker training), harness training for airplane travel, kitten socialization or feline enrichment requests (i.e., treat treasure hunts).
A proactive problem solver, I'm always prepared & communicative in troubleshooting unexpected pet problems with you. Cleaning up cat vomit, food spills or bathroom accidents are not a problem for me! I ensure your cat gets what it needs to stay healthy & for my previous cat clients, have fixed cat water fountains, bathed older cats that tripped in their poop, cleaned food bowls daily to prevent cat acne, captured a bee already in home that cat tried to play with, and even soothed & monitored a senior FIP cat after a mini seizure.
I make the effort to understand each individual pet's personality, including what relaxes, excites or mentally stimulates them, or what makes them happy. Playtime is as active or creative as your pet desires, needs or can handle.
Many cats have loved David Teie's soothing cat music for easing stress or anxiety they initially feel while you're away. And of course, I'll take care of the rest ;).
I work remote and have a flexible schedule. If drop-ins provide wifi access, I'm happy to occasionally gift a free hour or many hours of working next to your pet in your home, with occasional play, petting & attention depending on my schedule that day (this is in addition to your dedicated drop-in time where your pet gets my full attention).
