Animal Care Specialist, Freelance Illustrator & Cat-Mom 😺 😺 😺

Hello! My name is Coner (pronounced like "Connor") and I am a Animal Care Specialist, as well as a Freelance Illustrator in NYC. I am also a passionate homeless animal rescue advocate and mom of three of my own rescued cats: Phoebe (10), Max (8), and Stu (3.5)!

When I lived in Brooklyn, I became familiar with NYC's TNR program and the non-profit groups who care for the city's stray cats. TNR or Trap, Neuter, Release is a humane and necessary method of controlling our city's feral population. Shortly after becoming a certified cat trapper through the ASPCA, I began working in animal aid at Second Chance Rescue and PuppyKittyNYC (both Queens). I work with mostly large dogs and cats, training and tending to the animal's needs and comfort in hopes of them finding a forever home. The old and sick have a special place in my heart. ♥️

When entering you and your pet's space, my goal is to establish myself as a safe person. Through slow movements and words of affirmation, I get to know your furry kid at their own pace. While working on becoming best buds with your little dude, I tackle all the chores left for me - replenishing food and water, cleaning the litter box or pet bed, playing and stimulating your companion, you name it! I am all about trust, respect, and transparency, so however you prefer to communicate is my preference too.

I am familiar with and know how to administer medications. I also have experience with dietary needs and special food. Communication is key, so you can bet I will respond fast to messages/calls and keep you updated with pictures. Leaving behind a pet for travel flat out sucks and I totally understand the stress that comes with planning a trip. Allow me to give you some sense of comfort knowing you pet is in good hands.
