Quality Bonding Care - More Than a Check-In

While I have never owned a cat, I have lived with and cared for many. (Never enough.) Some of these cats had anxiety and chronic health issues that I helped to manage. All of them were happy and loved.

I am disabled, neurodivergent, and queer. This has nothing to do with my ability to care for animals, but I am upfront about these things in the interest of ensuring a safe space for us humans.

I have a unique background experience with exotic animals as pets, having grown up raising rescued green iguanas, barking geckos, a blue-tounged skink, a Chinese water dragon, and a myriad of small aquatic life - my dad is a marine biologist who now works at FIU.

I also learned to care for equines in adolescence and early college years, both riding and directing carriages and caring for the equipment - and, of course, the animals!

I spent significant time shadowing my local veterinarian in late high school, including observing surgeries. My best friend's mom is also a vet with exotic experience, and is only a message away to advise me if I have even the slightest inclination of something being off.

I adapt to the animal. Their boundaries, their terms, their needs.

I am known for playing with cats who are wary of new people and who "don't play" within a half hour of meeting the fur baby.

Visits include play and affection by default. First visitation also will include spending time to get to know the animal(s). If there are dogs, being let out to do their business is also included by default.

Please alert me as to where acceptable treats are and how often they are permitted, as I want to give them a positive experience without spoiling them or breaking rules. If there is any training ongoing, please let me know so that I can be sure to avoid any interruptions of the process and participate in a positive manner where and when appropriate to do so.
