Corbett Cat-Sitting

I work full-time as a doorman on overnight shifts from Tuesday through Saturday, which gives me great flexibility during the day. I’m a lifelong animal lover—especially cats—and I’m looking to earn a little extra income doing something I genuinely enjoy: caring for and spending time with cats.

Over the past two years, I’ve regularly cat-sat for tenants in my building, so I have hands-on experience with feeding, litter care, playtime, and making sure cats feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m reliable, attentive, and very comfortable around animals, and I’d be happy to take this on as a part-time role.

I offer cat-sitting services for anyone in the Manhattan area (and am happy to commute to Brooklyn or Queens) and would love to care for your cat while you’re away. I handle feeding, companionship, and overall care during the daytime hours I’m available. I’m also comfortable administering medication using pill pockets or pill crushers when needed.

Because I work overnight shifts, my availability begins after 7:00 AM, and I can provide care until 9:00 PM. I’m also available for overnight cat-sitting on Mondays only, as that’s my day off and when I’m fully rested.

I’ve been around cats my entire life and have always had a natural connection with them. My wife and I joke that we’ve befriended every bodega cat in the city—many of them run right up to me when they see me. Friends’ cats also tend to recognize me as “the treat and toy guy,” and I always come prepared. I keep a wide variety of cat toys at home and know which popular toys work best for cats of all ages and energy levels.

I’m especially patient with shy or anxious cats. I use calming techniques—like slow blinking and gentle body language—to help even the most cautious cats feel safe and relaxed. I’ve had many experiences where hesitant cats warmed up to me over time, regardless of their background.

During visits, I’ll clean food bowls, litter boxes, and water fountains, and I provide daily updates so you always know how your cat is doing. I genuinely look forward to meeting and bonding with every cat I care for and am excited to book my next sit.
