Special Needs Cat Sitter

Hi, my name is Nicole and I’m based out of Ridgewood, Queens! I’m 33 years old and I’ve had cats for over 10 years. My first cat was diagnosed with diabetes and I’ve managed to get him into remission after 2 1/2 months of twice daily insulin shots and diet change. The experience I had with him was tough yet rewarding and made me want to help more animals. I started volunteering at Puppy Kitty NY City in March of 2022 and I spend 1-2 days a week cleaning up after, medicating and caring for NYC’s former street cats. I started fostering a FIV+ senior cat a month into volunteering and ended up adopting him 4 months later. He has since passed but he had food allergies, asthma, skin cancer and needed extra attention because of his weakened immune system and old age. Between my own cats and the shelter cats, I’ve learned how to dose and administer liquid medication, insulin, B-12, fluids, oral pills, inhalers, topical ointments, eye medication, etc. I am also currently back in school to obtain my vet tech license!
