Availability

I'm currently a substitute teacher, so I'm mainly available in the EARLY mornings and then evenings and weekends for walks, feeding, etc. for dogs and cats. Very open for overnight stays (any night, provided you can accommodate my daytime substitute schedule), though I may need to go visit other clients on the weekends.

I can't take pets at my home, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to care for your pet at yours. I do a quick "get to know you" session before agreeing to a new client, so that I can meet you and your animal, get acquainted with your home, ask important questions about your and your pet's needs, and make sure that I understand exactly how to give your pet the highest level of care!

Information Jonathan C. would like to know about your pet

I will only take on new clients after a short "meet and greet." I'll want to know the following information about your pet: - What's your pet's daily routine? (Food, medicine, walks, etc.) - What does "normal" behavior look like for them? (Are they very energetic, more sedate, etc?) - Any allergies or foods/substances to avoid. (I ONLY give your animal what you want them to have.) - Any past traumas your pet has experienced? - What activities does your pet enjoy? - What activities should we avoid? - How does your pet liked to be touched, pet, handled, etc.? (And what ways does your pet NOT like to be touched?) - Any noises/experiences/settings that will trigger your pet? - What types of people/dogs must your dog avoid while out on walks? - Anything else I should know?

A typical day

I take the time to get to know each animal I'm hanging out with: Does your dog love the park or have a favorite route around the neighborhood? Let's do it. Fenced-in backyard? I'll toss your dog their favorite ball or frisbee. Got a chill senior dog? We can sit around together, I'll give them some pets or cuddles or just be a soothing presence! With cats, same deal: I'm cool to just chill. (I love winning over a new cat, whatever that entails.) If your cat likes to chase things, I'm happy to use whatever animates them to give them the enrichment time they need!

Substitue teacher, caring cat-pal!

Cat care experience

I love cats. My first family pet was a cat when I was just a kid and I've lived with them most of my life. Whatever your cat needs -- petting, playing, or just chilling together -- I take the time to get to know them and give them the experience that is going to keep them feeling safe, happy, and healthy! I'm a substitute teacher by day and available early mornings, afternoons, or evenings for cat-care. Trust me to be there when you can't!

I can’t recommend Jonathan highly enough! He has cared for my 11-year-old dog, Dinah on two different occasions, one where I was away in Europe for almost two weeks (the longest I've ever been away from her), and went above and beyond. From the moment we met, Jonathan showed warmth, professionalism, and an genuine understanding of Dinah’s needs as a senior dog who's still large and feisty. Dinah can be a little shy and particular, but she took to Jonathan immediately—something that rarely happens. He was incredibly patient with her, attentive to her routines, and kept me updated with little notes about their time together. It gave me such peace of mind knowing she was in such capable and caring hands. When I returned home, Dinah was calm, and clearly well cared for. Her feeding and medication schedule had been followed to the letter, and it was clear she had been treated with affection. Jonathan is trustworthy, responsible, and truly loves animals. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pet like their own, Jonathan is the one. Thank you, Jonathan, for treating Dinah like family. We’re both so grateful!
