I take my 8-yr-old dog Jane for long walks in Prospect Park every morning, where we explore the variety of environments. I try to birdwatch and she chases squirrels. When we’re at home, she curls up with our 18 year-old kitty, Alice, and sometimes they even hang out with Ruth, our rescue lizard. My life centers around these critters!

I am always keeping an eye on my dog, cat, and lizard to make sure that nothing is wrong, their needs are met, and that, most of all, they are happy and comfortable. I will give your pet the same TLC and look after them exactly as you ask. I would say that they won’t even know you’re gone, but we all know that’s not how it works with pets and their people! Most importantly, they will be safe and loved, and I will treat your home with the respect it deserves.

Please provide a snapshot of your pup’s personality: does he try to eat everything on the street? Does she bark at bigger dogs? Info about energy level, anxiety, bathroom preferences, reactivity, etc., all help me take the best possible care of your dog. For kitties it’s also helpful to have a picture of their personality so I can approach them accordingly. It’s also good to know their favorite foods, whether anything is verboten, preferred hiding places, etc. Of course, any info about your pet’s health issues, medication, special needs, etc., should be shared. I will take such good care of them!
A typical day
I live near Prospect Park and frequently take dogs there. It is dog heaven! However, I also love to stroll my pups around Brooklyn’s streets. Even if yours can only go for a few blocks, I’ll change the route to provide stimulation. We all know that dogs love to sniff, but they also NEED to, and I indulge that need. If a pup wants to stops every couple of feet to sniff, that’s fine; I don’t rush them. Activity level will be tailored to your dog, but I can play fetch till the cows come home, sit and watch the squirrels, hang out in a pack or solo - it’s all fun! I am happy to bathe and brush, clean teeth and ears, and can administer meds from pills to IV fluids. When it comes to kitties - I love just spending time with them and do so on their own terms. Cat lovers know that kitties respond differently to new people, and I respect that! In addition to taking care of their basic needs, I’ll toss toys, give tummy rubs, hang out on the sofa with them - and who doesn’t love watching a cat attack a feather on a string? I gently coax my shy kitties to engage, but if they want to hide, I just sit quietly nearby. Often they come to me, but I don’t try to make them do anything they don’t want to do. As if that were even possible with a cat!

I love all animals, but the kitties have a special place in my heart and I could never live without one in my home. Each cat is different and should be met on their own terms. You have to earn their affection and trust, and when they choose to bestow it, it’s a real gift. I’ll care for yours in whatever way they need (and you want): playing, brushing, or just talking to them as they hide under the bed. Of course that’s on top of the basics: feeding, watering, and litter box maintenance. I’ve been cleaning boxes since I was five! I’ll also respect your home and privacy and keep things clean. And I trim claws! I’m skilled at giving pills, along with applying topical treatments, brushing teeth, and administering IV fluids and meds. Your kitty will be safe, doted upon, and spoiled. I can’t wait to meet you both!

Jennifer was the best cat sitter I could have asked for! She took such great care of my 3 kitties, and they warmed up to her so quickly. It was my first time using Rover, so I was a little nervous, but Jennifer put me at ease immediately. She has a very calm and friendly demeanor which the cats definitely can sense. I called her the cat-whisperer, which I truly believe. While I was away, Jennifer kept me fully updated on the kitties, and sent a bunch of pictures of the cats playing and having a great time. I really didn't worry about them because I knew they were in great hands. She went above and beyond cat-sitting. They were happy, fed, and clean (she even removed a little poop that had gotten stuck in my one cats long fur!). My one cat Max needs a lot of play and attention, and I think she enjoyed playing with him as much as he did! I'm pretty sure he misses Jennifer now! She's just the best, don't hesitate to book her for your pets, she will give them all the love they need.
Jennifer was excellent with Artemis! She took great care of her, and was wonderful with her medication. Highly recommend!
