I work from home on Mondays and Fridays with a fairly flexible schedule so can stop in for a walk or bathroom break at anytime during those days. And weekend drop ins or in-home stays are much more flexible!

Safety, trust & environment
I have only ever used positive reinforcement training with my own pup - dishing out lots of treats and praise to reinforce preferred behavior. I would treat your animal with this same approach and focus on building trust-based, positive relationships. I'm a notetaker, so when we do our initial meet and greet, I'll be sure to record all preferred treatment and care so that I can maintain your pup/kitty's routine as closely as possible.
Information Hillary C. would like to know about your pet
Because I have a reactive dog, I'd like to help other reactive dog owners as much as I can, so please let me know if you're in this boat! Otherwise, does your pet not like kids? other dogs? people with hats on? any food allergies or sensitivities? do they LOVE finding street treats or rolling in dead things? Whatever little quirks they have, please let me know. I believe that animals are just like humans and they all have their own little quirks and personalities and that's okay! They might just need a little extra help and patience.
A typical day
I'm game for whatever your pal enjoys. I love letting dogs lead their walks - where they lead, I follow! And let them sniff to their heart's content getting as much extra enrichment and exploration as possible. I also love hiking or any kind of trail walk, really. Or if they prefer tug of war or fetch or playing with toys more, I'd love to engage with them that way too! As for fun activities with cats, just show me where the string on a stick is or whatever other little stuffies they enjoy and I'll toss them around and be sure they get lots of good fun in before they settle back in for their next cat nap. :)

Cat care experience
My very first animal love was a cat, Bailey. I grew up with him and he lived until 15, so I was able to care for and love him through all phases of his life. I understand some cats may be more cuddly than others. I understand the irritated flick of the tail and to usually avoid bellies ;) Cats run the show - we all know this. So I respect their space and preferences and am ready to hang and care for your cat exactly how they'd prefer.
Reviews
Did a great job with our cats! Sent lots of videos and photos.

Hillary was so great! Chloë loved her and I felt so reassured knowing she was well-cared for. Hillary spent quality time with Chloë and sent lovely, detailed notes and photos. Highly recommend!
Hillary is the most fantastic dog-mom and dog-lover I know! My older dog and I have known Hillary for many years now and have both witnessed and experienced what a caring, loving, and knowledgeable person she is when it comes to the world of dogs. Part of what we have witnessed is how she interacts with dogs who have special behavioral needs in terms of being reactive to other dogs and/or people. She is very experienced in using a positive approach to working with dogs and has demonstrated such a strong commitment to getting to know the dogs she meet's personalities, quirks, and what brings them joy. From seeing how deeply and wonderfully she has cared for her own dog, Finn, she invests so much of her time and energy to make sure Finn is happy, well-exercised, stimulated, and rewarded for being the best girl in the world! I have no doubt that she will treat your own dog(s) as if they are her own and that you and your pooch will love her as deeply and fondly as mine and I do! I couldn't recommend anyone more!
Hillary is an exceptional dog walker and caregiver. Her own dog, Finn, is a testament to the love and attention she provides, and she extends that same care to every dog she meets. My dog, Kenobi, absolutely adores his aunty Hillary—she's truly one of his favorite people! Hillary's reliability, attentiveness, and genuine passion for animals make her stand out. Whether it's a neighborhood stroll or an adventurous outing, she ensures each dog is happy, safe, and well-cared-for. I wholeheartedly recommend Hillary to anyone seeking a trustworthy and loving dog walker. Your pup will be in the best hands! 🐾
