About Dominique G.

Safety, trust & environment
I have been a cat owner (or.. employee/butler to cats..) for 15 years, and have taken care of other folks' cats many times for at least the past 10 years. When I cat sit, I like to play with them first, before they eat. They are more motivated to get exercise that way, and less likely to throw up. Then, I feed them, and while their food settles, scoop the litter box(es), wash their food dishes, and refill their water. Then I play with them again! If I don't have anywhere to be, I've been known to bring a book and read for a bit so the cats have some company. Sometimes they want to sit with me, and sometimes not, but I think it's good for the cats to know they are not alone. I won't linger if the owners don't want me to. :)
Information Dominique G. would like to know about your pet
a) If a cat might allow a stranger to pet them, or if they usually don't like that b) If a cat has certain "no go" spots, where they don't like to be touched c) If a cat is known to scratch or bite, even if it's rare d) If your cat needs any special care, even something small like only being served a little bit of food at a time to prevent vomiting e) Any quirks about your furry family member
A typical day
If the owners leave out a couple toys, I love to play with the cat(s) before they eat. Especially in morning or early evening visits, cats are ready to chase and pounce. I am happy to give them some exercise, since they will be laying around all day after eating. :) If the cat isn't interested in playing, I will of course pet them (if they allow me), or just sit near them if that's what they prefer.

Reviews

Dominique was amazing! So communicative and provided great comfort for me and my pet while I was out of town. Went above and beyond to provide for my pet!

Fantastic sitter! My cat was so happy and well taken care of. Dominique went above and beyond in taking care of Alina, sending picture and videos, giving my cat new toys and playing with Luna.

Dominique was AMAZING! She went above and beyond to keep my cat happy and worn out (in a good way), kept me updated with lots of pictures and videos, and went out of her way to keep my cat warm when my window burst open in the winter. Her macgyver skills are as excellent as her cat skills! I was amazed by how quickly my cat took to her and how great she was at finding how to engage with him both in play and in cuddling. Hesitant to write a nice review as I hope I can selfishly keep her available for myself in the future ;)

This is our second time using Dominique to care for our cat. She makes a real effort to ensure our cat feels comfortable and takes the time to play with her. We’d be happy to book her again and next time we are out of town.
